What LogRocket does
LogRocket-AssetCacher is the fetcher LogRocket's servers use to cache stylesheets and images that appear in session recordings, so replays render correctly during playback. These assets are not uploaded by the recording script embedded in the site; LogRocket requests them directly from your servers. Requests identify themselves with the user agent "LogRocket-AssetCacher (+https://docs.logrocket.com/docs/asset-caching-bot)", and cached assets are shared across all sessions they appear in to minimize requests to your servers.
How to control LogRocket
Target LogRocket in your robots.txt with the LogRocket-AssetCacher token. Rules apply per bot, so you can allow this one while blocking others, or the reverse.
Allow LogRocket
User-agent: LogRocket-AssetCacher
Allow: /Block LogRocket
User-agent: LogRocket-AssetCacher
Disallow: /Successfully cached assets are reused for up to 14 days, governed by the Cache-Control response header, and failed asset requests are not retried for 1 minute.
How to identify LogRocket
Temso identifies LogRockettraffic by matching the request's User-Agent header against this pattern. User-agent strings can be spoofed, so treat a match as an indication, not proof.
LogRocket-AssetCacherLogRocket FAQ
What is LogRocket?
LogRocket-AssetCacher is the bot LogRocket uses to fetch and cache stylesheets and images referenced in session recordings so they display during replay playback. It identifies itself with the user agent "LogRocket-AssetCacher (+https://docs.logrocket.com/docs/asset-caching-bot)".
How do I block LogRocket-AssetCacher?
You can add a robots.txt group with "User-agent: LogRocket-AssetCacher" and "Disallow: /", though LogRocket's documentation does not state that the asset cacher reads robots.txt, so blocking by its user agent string at the server may be more reliable. Note that it only fetches assets referenced in recordings made on sites that have installed LogRocket, and blocking it can leave those replays without their stylesheets and images.
