What Sogou does
Sogou spider is the automated program of the Sogou search engine. It fetches pages from the web and stores them in Sogou's database, following links to discover new pages for search indexing. Per Sogou's webmaster page, it opens only one connection per IP address and spaces requests several seconds apart, and it revisits pages at a frequency based on their importance and how often they have changed historically. It supports the robots protocol via a robots.txt file placed in the site root.
