TTD-Content

Operated by The Trade DeskAdvertising

Verifies content and quality of ad placements for The Trade Desk's DSP.

What TTD-Content does

TTD-Content is a crawler operated by The Trade Desk, a demand-side platform. When The Trade Desk receives an ad request for a page, the bot scans that page's content to determine the context in which ads were displayed, and the contextual data is cached to inform ad serving and bidding. The Trade Desk states that blocking the bot means some advertisers cannot determine the context of your pages, which could affect ad bidding on your domain. Issues can be reported to TTD-Content@thetradedesk.com.

How to control TTD-Content

Target TTD-Content in your robots.txt with the TTD-Content token. Rules apply per bot, so you can allow this one while blocking others, or the reverse.

How to identify TTD-Content

TTD-Content FAQ

What is TTD-Content?

TTD-Content is The Trade Desk's content verification crawler. It scans a page's content when ad requests are received in order to determine the context in which ads were displayed, and the contextual data is cached to inform ad serving on The Trade Desk's demand-side platform.

How do I block TTD-Content?

Add a robots.txt group with "User-agent: TTD-Content" and a Disallow rule for the paths you want excluded, or "Disallow: /" for the whole site. Note that The Trade Desk states blocking the bot prevents some advertisers from determining page context, which could affect ad bidding on your domain.

About Advertising Bots

Bots run by ad platforms to check landing pages, verify ad placements, and analyze content for brand safety and targeting.

If you run ads on a platform, its ad bots usually need access; blocking them can break ad approval and quality checks for your own campaigns.
