How RecruiterWeb Beat 25 Rivals and Made AEO a Client Service

RecruiterWeb benchmarks itself against 25 recruitment website vendors. Four months after it started publishing content created with Temso, it held the largest share of voice of all of them, and its founder now runs the same AEO playbook for the recruitment agencies he builds sites for.

How RecruiterWeb Beat 25 Rivals and Made AEO a Client Service

“We have the largest share of voice of the 25 vendors we compare against, and we got there in four months with content generated by Temso.”

Darren Revell, Founder and Director, RecruiterWeb

Darren Revell wanted to put his clients into AI responses. Before he recommended anything, he tested it on his own brand, and four months later RecruiterWeb held the largest share of voice of the 25 vendors it competes with.

The ex-recruiters behind RecruiterWeb

Darren Revell is a founder and director of RecruiterWeb, a recruitment website platform built for recruitment agencies. The company was founded by ex-recruiters and has worked with the sector since 2004, from start-ups to established firms and enterprise-scale agencies. Its team of ten has built more than 667 recruitment websites.

"We build websites for a living, and we only work with recruitment companies," Revell says.

What makes RecruiterWeb different from other recruitment website providers

RecruiterWeb is a SaaS website platform made only for recruitment agencies. Its sites are built to win both clients and candidates, and to rank in search and surface in AI responses, so AEO is part of the platform from day one.

Revell benchmarks RecruiterWeb against 25 recognised vendors. By his count, it offers the most features for the lowest total cost. He puts the price down to a mature, founder-funded and efficient platform, not to a thinner product.

Why AEO matters for recruitment agencies

When a hiring manager or a candidate asks an AI assistant which agency to use, the agencies it names are the ones that get the call.

AEO came onto Revell's radar two years ago. For his clients, the first worry was overload. "Clients worry there is too much AI needed, and they're not sure why they need so many subscriptions," he says. "We aim to refocus their attention on how AI will bring them inbound leads, not replace them."

Why RecruiterWeb chose Temso

Revell came to Temso with his clients in mind: he wanted to get them into AI responses. Before recommending anything, he tested it on his own brand. "I wanted to validate the service first, so I could say: this is a service I trust to recommend to my customers," he says.

The free trial let him do that on RecruiterWeb's own site. Two things stood out. Temso measures where a brand appears in AI responses, which the content tools he already used did not do. And the dashboard is simple enough for the people he serves. "Our customers are small businesses. The owner or a senior manager runs the marketing, and they don't have the time for complicated dashboards."

The trial and the price sealed it. The trial proved Temso on his own brand, and the pricing scales with him, whether he runs AEO for a handful of clients or a long list of them.

How RecruiterWeb runs AEO with Temso's AI agent

What Revell values most now is the AI agent. "The support assistant has a near-human understanding when you talk to it," he says. "It remembers our whole strategy, so when we ask for new work, it recognises what it has done and advised in the past."

That memory comes from Temso's brand context. The agent knows the brand, its competitors and its goals, so each new piece of work builds on the last one. It suggests opportunities across technical optimization, content creation and off-page authority, and it creates the content RecruiterWeb publishes.

It also points to the sources AI responses rely on. In one case, Temso flagged a listicle that AI responses cited for recruitment websites. The post listed vendors that don't serve recruiters, and it was closed to new entries. The agent gave RecruiterWeb other ways to counteract that closed listicle.

How RecruiterWeb took the top share of voice among 25 vendors

When RecruiterWeb started on Temso, a competing platform was ahead of it in ChatGPT. RecruiterWeb tracks its share of voice in AI responses against the 25 recruitment website vendors it compares itself with. Four months after it started publishing content created with Temso, it had the largest share of voice of all 25.

What RecruiterWeb tells other agencies about Temso

Asked whether he would recommend Temso to another agency owner, Revell keeps it short. "Yes, we would recommend Temso without hesitation."

He had said as much a few months in. "The product is brilliant," he wrote. "I have 22 years in SEO building websites, and this product definitely stands out as one of the best ones."

What's next for RecruiterWeb in AEO

Recruitment is still early in AEO, and the sources AI relies on are scattered. In Temso's study of more than 200,000 AI citations in HR and recruitment, 87.6% of cited domains appeared in only one of the 12 countries analyzed. Directories also carried more weight than the industry's biggest names: Clutch alone received more than five times as many citations as Adecco. For recruitment firms, that means AEO is won market by market, often on third-party sites.

Revell is keeping RecruiterWeb's next step to himself. "That's private," he says, "but it involves Temso."
